The National Competence Center in the field of halal products will be created in Russia on the basis of Roskachestvo. This was reported by the press service of the Roscongress Foundation.
The organization will be engaged in the development of national halal standards, standardization, certification and monitoring of the quality of halal products, the fund said. They added that the competence of the center will also include the promotion of Russian halal products in the domestic market and abroad.
The export of Russian halal products to the Gulf countries amounted to a record $180 million in 2021. By 2024, deliveries to Arab countries should reach $400 million, and by 2030 – $700 million, said Maxim Protasov, head of Roskachestvo. According to him, the activities of the national Competence Center will allow “to build confidence in halal products of domestic and international consumers.”
