On January 1, 2023, a federal project was launched in the country to stimulate the production of potatoes and vegetables, which provides for the provision of state support to farmers in these areas and, as a result, an increase in the gross harvest of potatoes and vegetables. In Kabardino-Balkaria, it is planned to allocate 72.87 million rubles of budget funds for these purposes this year. Subsidies will be provided to reimburse or financially support part of the costs of producing vegetables and potatoes, including the continued provision of funds to support elite seed production, improve soil fertility and quality, and carry out agrotechnological work in the cultivation of these crops.
