The name King was rejected nine times during registration
New Zealand’s Home Office has released a list of names that authorities will ban from registering children in 2022. It is reported by Radio New Zealand.
The name King was rejected nine times by the staff of the General Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. In second place in popularity were the names of Saint and Royal. They were banned from registration eight and seven times, respectively.

Also among the most popular rejected names were Messiah, Prince and Princess, Sovereign, Father, Bishop, Duke, Empress and Rogue. The head of registration services, Jeff Montgomery, noted that the names should not offend anyone and represent an official title or rank.
