In recent years, active work has been carried out in Dagestan to involve unused lands in the turnover. One of the tools is the implementation of cultural and technical measures as part of participation in the federal program for the effective involvement in the circulation of agricultural land and the development of the reclamation complex.
As the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov noted, in a number of municipal districts there were facts of overgrowing of agricultural land with tree and shrub vegetation, small forests and without uprooting, it was difficult to put them into economic circulation without carrying out other cultural and technical works. Huge support from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation to support our projects within the framework of the melioration development program helps to return the land to circulation. Thus, in 2017-2022, within the framework of the federal program for land reclamation, 176 projects were implemented with the implementation of cultural and technical work on an area of 14.6 thousand hectares. 23 municipal districts participate in this program, among which Tarumovsky, Kizlyarsky, Gunibsky and Khunzakhsky regions are the most active.
In order to get acquainted with the progress of the implementation of projects for 2023, the First Deputy Minister, accompanied by the leading specialist of the Reclamation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Abdul Mutuev and the Chief Researcher of the Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Republic of Dagestan, Professor Magomed Baratov, visited a number of farms in the north of Dagestan. So, SPK “Kizlyar” of the Tarumovsky district, cultural and technical work was carried out on an area of 150 hectares, which made it possible to start building rice engineering systems on an area of 180 hectares. The project is at the stage of completion. According to the initiator of the project, Shamil Khaibulaev, for many years these lands remained out of circulation, so they decided to take advantage of the reclamation program and start growing the popular rice crop. A granary has also been erected here on 1500 square meters. A greenhouse was launched, which had been built for many years on an area of more than 4 hectares. They also cultivate a number of other agricultural crops. He stressed that state support will help to implement a number of projects.
In the SPK “Bay” of the Gunibsky district, located on the territory of the Kizlyarsky district, a project was also implemented on an area of 208 hectares. According to the head of the farm Abdulaziz Azizov, these lands are overgrown with shrubs. The existing engineering networks, they actually did not work, healed and became unusable. Here, too, they decided to take advantage of the support of the melioration program; a large amount of work is currently being carried out on the farm. In parallel, it is planned to carry out a major reconstruction of engineering networks, but at this moment, help is also needed to put in order inter-farm discharge channels.
“For 2023, 29 projects have been selected from the Republic of Dagestan on an area of more than 4,000 hectares, which is more than 4 times more than last year. This area of land reclamation is in high demand. We see that the farms of Dagestan are doing a great job to make the land work. And we intend to support such projects, such initiative leaders, to involve them in the existing forms and directions of state support. The leadership of the republic has set the task for the land to work effectively. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan is taking measures to solve this problem by strengthening participation in the relevant state programs,” said Sharip Sharipov summing up the trip.
