Specialists of the testing laboratory of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselkhozcenter” in the Stavropol Territory check the sowing qualities of batches of seeds of spring crops intended for sale.
Seeds are the basis of agriculture. You can get a high yield only if the seed material has good sowing qualities and meets the requirements of GOST.
Sowing qualities characterize the suitability of seeds for sowing. The main indicators of the sowing qualities of seed material are: purity (no impurities of other crops, weeds, etc.), germination energy, germination, moisture, as well as weight and uniformity in weight and size, contamination of seeds with pests and diseases.
Seed material that meets the requirements of GOST for sowing qualities is called conditioned, they need to be sown. When sowing with substandard seeds, the sowing density, as a rule, turns out to be uneven, and the yield is significantly reduced.
Of the tested 14.942 thousand tons, laboratory specialists identified seed lots that do not meet the requirements of the national standard GOST R 52325-2005 in terms of germination in the amount of 0.16 tons.
According to the results of the check, the test reports were issued to the applicants.
