Rosstat, in the second assessment of the collection of crops in the Russian Federation, significantly, by 856 thousand tons, lowered the data on the collection of sunflower seeds in 2022 – compared to 2021, the gross harvest decreased by 7.5%, to 14.486 million tons, follows from the materials of the statistical department.
According to the second assessment of the agency, the sunflower seed crop in 2022 compared to 2021 in weight after completion decreased by 7.5%, to 14.486 million tons (the first estimate was 15.342 million). Meanwhile, the sown area under this crop increased by 3.9%, to 10.136 million hectares.
At the end of November, the Sovecon analytical center predicted that the gross sunflower harvest in the Russian Federation in 2022 could reach 16.1 million tons, while expecting that due to serious weather delays, the harvesting of a significant part of the crop would drag on for months, and would end only after winter, which will lead to a serious reduction in yields and losses.
Soybeans were harvested 21.6% more – 5.789 million tons (was 5.751 million, rapeseed – 63.3% more, 4.563 million tons (the first estimate was 4.524 million). Soybean acreage increased by 13.7% , up to 3.487 million, under rapeseed (winter and spring) – by 39.1%, up to 2.343 million hectares.
The gross harvest of sugar beets in 2022 increased by 1.2%, to 41.697 million tons, and the sown crops increased by 3.2%, to 1.035 million hectares. Potatoes harvested 18.723 million tons, 4.3% more than a year ago, the sown area under it decreased by 0.7% and amounted to 1.1 million hectares. Gross harvest of vegetables – 13.021 million tons (0.1% lower than last year), sown crops – 468 thousand hectares (minus 2.2%).
Buckwheat was harvested by 34.2% more than in the previous year – 1.234 million tons, the sown area under this crop increased by 17.4%, to 1.151 million hectares. The harvest of rice decreased by 25.9%, to 797.5 thousand tons, millet – by 16.2%, to 308.7 thousand tons. The sown area under rice decreased by 9.5%, to 172,000 hectares, under millet – by 19.1%, to 238,000 hectares.
