Women have been warned about the dangers of high heels many times. But these shoes never go out of fashion – beauty requires sacrifice, what can you do. And the feet can become a victim – according to Antonina Zavadskaya, a traumatologist-orthopedist of the Ortek orthopedic salons network, wearing high-heeled shoes can lead to flat feet and the development of a heel spur.
The latter most often torments people who spend a lot of time on their feet – these are athletes, and doctors, and sellers, and teachers, and couriers. But it can also develop in those who prefer a sedentary lifestyle, for example, if you constantly walk in high heels.
“The manifestations of the disease can be reduced with the help of analgesics, the use of orthopedic insoles, shock wave therapy and physiotherapy. If conservative treatment methods do not bring relief, they resort to surgery, but this happens in rare cases, ”the orthopedist told Lente.ru.
The doctor added that those who do little physical activity and walk a little risk earning a spur – a person’s muscles weaken and it is more difficult for them to cope with shock loads while walking or running. Also, pathology can appear as a result of microtraumas received at home or during sports.
Finally, children can also be at risk if they are flat-footed, overweight or wearing the wrong shoes.
Earlier traumatologist-orthopedist Alisher Zohirov reminded about the dangers of wearing high heels in winter.
