A pipe-working shop with an area of more than 7,000 square meters was put into operation at the Zvezda shipbuilding complex. The production capacity of the new facility is 13 thousand tons of metal per year. It will produce pipes from carbon and high-quality stainless steels, as well as copper-nickel alloys for ice-class tankers of the Aframax type and ice-class service vessels
The pipe-working shop is an important link in the technological process of building ships. The new production site allows not only to increase the speed and efficiency of the formation of the hull of the future vessel, but also to increase the percentage of its localization. The workshop has the highest class of automation and robotics.
