The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is considering the possibility of increasing the export duty on rapeseed, RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the ministry.
“At the moment, the Ministry of Agriculture is considering the possibility of increasing the export duty on rapeseed, the corresponding application will be sent to the Ministry of Economic Development,” the press service said.
The ban on the export of rapeseed is valid in the Russian Federation until February 28 (except for the Zabaikalsk checkpoint), the export duty rate until August 31, 2022 was 30%. Now the export duty rate for rapeseed is 6.5% of the customs value, but export is allowed only through Zabaikalsk.
“The amount of the duty will be set by the subcommittee on customs-tariff and non-tariff regulation,” the press service added.
According to preliminary data from Rosstat, the gross harvest of rapeseed in 2022 increased by 63.3% compared to 2021, to 4.563 million tons.
