Winter is a time not only of snowfalls and frosts, but also of reagents. Of course, they sprinkle not only sidewalks, but also the roadway. About when chemicals on Russian roads have a devastating effect on the wheels of cars, Oleg Rastegaev, an expert at the Autoreview newspaper, said. First of all, tires are destroyed in the presence of punctures and cuts – reagents penetrate there.
As the specialist explained, tire manufacturers do not test them for the effects of reagents. Nevertheless, in the event of a puncture, even if it is qualitatively stopped in a car service, the probability of tire destruction is very high – water mixed with reagents will still get there.
“Due to chemical compounds, the metal cord will begin to strongly corrode, which can lead to its destruction. As a result, the service life of the tire will be reduced. A bulge will appear, which is also called a hernia, and it is absolutely impossible to drive with such a problem, ”the expert emphasized.
More reagents can cause spikes to fly out. The special coating made on them as a result of natural wear is erased, reagents get on the spikes, and corrosion begins. The spikes gradually become thinner, wobble in their seats, and eventually fly out.
Earlier, the Russians were explained what really dangerous worn tires are. First of all, you need to be afraid not of fines, but of the increasing risk of accidents.
