According to the Eurasian Sugar Association, as of mid-January of this year, the total volume of beet sugar production in the EAEU countries since the beginning of the 2022/23 season increased by 6.6% compared to the same date last year and amounted to 6.3 million tons.
According to the analytical service of Soyuzrossahar, in Russia as of January 16 this year. out of 65 sugar factories, 29 factories continue to process sugar beets harvested in 2022, last year – 6 factories on the same date. In total, as of this date, the plants processed 41.37 million tons of sugar beet (in 2022 – 37.20 million tons) and produced 5.70 million tons of beet sugar, which is 340 thousand tons more than last year.
According to the Association of Sugar Producers “Belsakhar”, as of January 16, 2023, one plant is operating in Belarus – OJSC “Skidel Sugar Plant”. In total, 3976.5 thousand tons of sugar beets were processed as of this date (in 2022 – 3709.7 thousand tons), from which 504.5 thousand tons of white sugar were produced, which is 7% more than last year.
In the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, the production of sugar from sugar beets by local factories has been completed. In total, in the current season, beet sugar was produced in Kazakhstan – 26.40 thousand tons, in Kyrgyzstan – 60.09 thousand tons.
Taking into account the current harvest of sugar beet and the rate of its processing, the forecast for the production of beet sugar in the EAEU countries in the current season remains at the level of 6.8-6.9 million tons.
