From September 1, 2023, a law will come into force in Russia, according to which mandatory labeling of farm animals is introduced, as well as their registration. However, it will become mandatory no earlier than March 1, 2024.
Information about marked animals will be entered into the state system of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the field of veterinary medicine “VetIS”.
An animal card in the system will contain, in particular, information about its sex, age, biological species and breed, as well as information about its marking means, place of keeping and owner data. The card of animals imported into Russia, among other things, will include the date of importation.
Now the accounting of farm animals kept both in large enterprises and small forms of management is carried out by filling the regional system of AIS “Veterinary”. It already contains the information required for inclusion.
