In 2022, the export of flour from Moscow Region amounted to 64.6 thousand tons.
“Weight indicators, compared to last year, increased by 8 times. Cost – more than 6.5 times. The main volumes fell on the export of wheat-rye flour – 64 thousand tons, which is 9 times higher than last year’s results. The supply of cereals and wholemeal flour from other cereals increased by 13 times – 188 tons and corn flour – 138 tons,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, who is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Also last year, the Moscow region exported cereals and wholemeal flour from corn and wheat.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the export of flour from Russia in 2022 increased by 3.5 times and amounted to 881 thousand tons. Georgia became the largest importer of domestic flour, which increased purchases by 4.7 times in physical terms (up to 202 thousand tons) and six times in monetary terms. Also, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Iraq, the second importer of Russian flour in 2022, increased its purchases by a multiple. In less than 12 months, the physical volume of exports to this country increased 12 times, to 158,000 tons, and the value – 13 times. Afghanistan closes the top 3, importing 131 thousand tons of Russian flour – 4.9 times more than in 2021.
