According to Rosstat, in January-November 2022, milk production in agricultural organizations of the Kostroma Region increased by 6.2% compared to the same period a year earlier and amounted to 87.7 thousand tons. In terms of production growth, the region ranks 8th in Central Federal District. The top three are Kursk (+35.3%), Tula (+14.4%) and Bryansk (+12.9%) regions. Most of the milk in agricultural organizations of the Central Federal District for 11 months of last year was milked in the Voronezh region – 784.5 thousand tons, or 15.7% of the district volume (5 million tons). As of December 1, 2022, the number of dairy cows in agricultural organizations of the Kostroma Region was 15.6 thousand animals, which is 0.9% more than a year earlier (15.5 thousand heads).
