On January 20, Rosatom officially began construction of Europe’s largest plant for the production of medical isotope products.
On Friday, the start of pouring the foundation of the enterprise was given in Obninsk, Kaluga Region, at the site of the L. Ya. Karpov Research Institute of Physics and Chemistry (NIFHI, an enterprise of Rosatom).
It is expected that in 2025, 21 production lines of the new plant will begin production of radiopharmaceutical products for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of socially significant diseases, including inoperable metastatic forms of cancer.
