Agricultural organizations of the Russian Federation in 2022 produced 12.9 million tons of meat (in live weight, for slaughter), which is 4.9% more than in 2021, according to the materials of Rosstat, writes finmarket.ru.
The leaders in terms of growth rates are the production of pigs, which increased by 6.9% to 5.3 million tons. Poultry grown 6.5 million tons (4.9% more), cattle – 1.04 million tons (3.5% less), sheep and goats – 39 thousand tons (2.7% less) .
Gross milk yield amounted to 18.97 million tons, exceeding the figure for 2021 by 4.7%. Milk yield per cow increased by 6.6% to 7,644 kg. Rosstat also reports that egg production increased by 3.4%, to 37.3 billion pieces. As of December 1, 2022, the number of cattle in agricultural organizations amounted to 7.918 million heads (0.5% less than a year earlier), including 3.211 million cows (0.2% less). The number of pigs increased by 7.1%, to 25.669 million heads, poultry – by 3.1%, to 468.2 million heads, sheep and goats – by 1%, to 3.1 million heads. The number of horses decreased by 3.6% to 223.3 thousand heads.
On the eve of the Ministry of Agriculture reported that in 2022 in farms of all categories (agricultural organizations, farmers, personal subsidiary plots) meat production in live weight (for slaughter) reached a record 16 million tons.
