Comedy budget amounted to 850 million rubles
The comedy “Cheburashka” directed by Dmitry Dyachenko became the highest-grossing film in the history of Russian distribution. This is evidenced by the data of the Unified Federal Automated Information System of Information on Film Screenings in Cinema Halls (UAIS).
“Cheburashka” was released in Russian cinemas on January 1. As of January 22, the film earned 5,014,058,052 rubles. So, he overtook the leaders of domestic distribution in terms of total collections – the first part of the sci-fi film “Avatar” by James Cameron and the comedy “Serf” by Klim Shipenko.

In addition, Cheburashka became the first project whose box office receipts in Russia exceeded 4 billion rubles. The total budget of the comedy, according to the UAIS, amounted to 850 million rubles.
