In Kabardino-Balkaria, in the upcoming spring sowing campaign, according to preliminary data, it is planned to sow spring crops on an area of about 220 thousand hectares.
Due to the increase in areas under winter crops, the area of spring sowing will slightly decrease.
If we talk about the main agricultural crops, this year it is planned to sow more grains and legumes in the KBR, in particular corn for grain, which is expected to be sown on an area of 142 thousand hectares against 137.7 thousand hectares in 2022.
To maintain the stability of crop rotation in the republic, the area under sunflower will decrease, which, according to operational information, will occupy 14 thousand hectares.
The crops of vegetables and potatoes will remain at the level of last year – 16.8 thousand hectares and 7 thousand hectares, respectively.
Also, the area under fodder crops will remain unchanged compared to 2022, it is planned to sow 11.3 thousand hectares.
