The A-159 highway passes through the territory of the Republic of Adygea, from the city of Maikop to the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve. The end point of the route is located near the Lagonaki plateau – one of the anchor areas for tourism development in the North Caucasus region. The Glavgosexpertiza of Russia issued a positive opinion on the overhaul of three sections of the highway, their total length will be about 316 meters.
The repaired sections of the A-159 highway are located in the Maykop urban district of the Republic of Adygea, between the village of Kamennomostsky and the village of Khamyshki. The section on the 43rd kilometer belongs to the III technical category, and the repair sections on the 47th and 55th kilometers belong to the IV category.
“The overhaul of sections of the road from Maykop to the Caucasus Reserve includes work on the installation of new capital-type pavement with asphalt concrete pavement at km 43 and 47 of the road, the organization of drainage, the placement of local treatment facilities, as well as the installation of new and strengthening of existing retaining anti-landslide facilities”, – said Alexei Mikhailov, Chief Specialist of the Comprehensive Expertise Department of the Far Eastern Branch of the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
The anti-landslide structure is being built at the 43rd km of the road, the length of the overhaul section here will be 102 m, and the length of the holding structure will be 61.5 m.
The length of the overhaul sections at the 47th and 55th kilometers of the A-159 highway will be 117 m and 97.85 m, respectively. It is planned to strengthen the existing retaining structures with a length of 89.3 and 75 m.
