On March 1, Deputy Head of the Federal Road Agency Viktor Timofeev met with veterans of the regional public organization Rosavtodor. At the event, the results of the past year, topical issues facing the road sector, and directions for the further work of the department in 2023 were discussed.
In his welcoming speech, Viktor Timofeev noted the important role of veterans in the work on the patriotic education of young people and the preservation of the traditions of road work, and also focused on the key results of 2022: “Last year was a record year for the Federal Road Agency in terms of financial support – 1,064 trillion rubles. The cash execution of the allocated funds amounted to 99.9%. Thanks to the unprecedented support of the leadership of our country, we have not only met all the targets, but even exceeded them in many areas. On the federal network, after construction and reconstruction, 231.9 km were put into operation instead of the planned 207.7 km. Of the two to four lanes, 320 km were transferred as part of the overhaul, which is 30 km more than the planned volume. Record performance in the framework of the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads” – one of the most recognizable projects in our country. In 2022, work was carried out at more than 6,000 facilities. And the laying area of the upper layers of pavement amounted to over 170 million square meters. m. This year, we do not plan to slow down the pace of road work. And in addition to quantity, we pay close attention to quality control of the work carried out.”
Elena Potrashkova, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Rosavtodor, on behalf of all veterans of the industry, expressed gratitude to the department and its leadership for close cooperation: “You know about all the successes and difficulties of our organization. Help, support. And it is gratifying that last year the regional public organization “Rosavtodor” was recognized as the best veteran organization in the road sector. We continue to hold collective events with veterans and, of course, we are engaged in the patriotic education of young people. A plan of meetings with students of specialized educational institutions has already been developed. For example, on February 22, veterans took part in a festive event at the Moscow Automobile and Road College. A.A. Nikolaev”.
At the end of the event, Viktor Timofeev congratulated all veterans on the past Defender of the Fatherland Day and the upcoming International Women’s Day: “Thank you for your active social work. The experience you share with us is invaluable. It is great that our meeting is timed to coincide with two holidays. On behalf of the head of the Federal Highway Agency, the entire department and myself, I congratulate you all. We wish you health, happiness and a truly spring mood.”
