This issue is dedicated to the use of secondary resources in road construction. The topic is not new, but very relevant, since Rosavtodor is preparing for a large-scale introduction of coal-fired power plant ash and slag, crumb rubber from old car tires, recycled asphalt concrete and many other types of recyclable materials into the construction.
We talked about the development of road science in general with Alexander Bedusenko, General Director of the Federal Autonomous Institution “ROSDORNII”. He spoke about the new technical solutions used today in the industry, including at the facilities of the road national project.
Perhaps the most important event of the past winter was the restoration of the road part of the Crimean bridge – we publish a detailed chronicle of the work in the issue.
As before, on our pages we talk about people of interesting fate. Among them, no doubt, is the veteran of Rosavtodor Viktor Alexandrovich Lapshin, whose life – and in April our hero will turn 90 – is filled with truly incredible events.
Mikhail Blinkin, director of the Higher School of Economics Institute of Transport Economics and Transport Policy, explained specifically for Roads of Russia in the 21st Century why milestones were so important for imperial Russia that some of them became real architectural monuments.
