The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Rostov Region summed up the work of the agro-industrial complex in 2022. Growth in production and processing of agricultural products has been ensured in the region. According to preliminary data from Rostovstat, the index of agricultural production in 2022 amounted to 110.1% compared to 2021, products worth 455,651.9 million rubles were received. Food production index – 109.0%. In 2022, a record harvest of grain crops was harvested. The gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 15.1 million tons in weight after processing, which is 10.8% more than the previous year. For the fourth year in a row, the Rostov region remains among the regions that are leaders in Russia in this indicator. This was facilitated by incentives for farmers to buy better seeds of zoned varieties and hybrids for sowing, to update equipment that increases the efficiency of tillage and reduces crop losses, and to apply more fertilizers.
