Some of the clothes we wear are literally killing us.
According to scientists, people began to wear clothes about 70,000 years ago. This happened before they had to move to cold places at high latitudes. Their clothes have practically not been preserved, but there is evidence that ancient people wore capes made of thick animal skins. Over time, clothing has become more complex and it has come to the point that today we have at our disposal different types of shoes and underwear, outerwear for a variety of occasions from sports to business meetings, as well as a variety of accessories. Every day we wear different clothes and sometimes we don’t even suspect that some elements of the wardrobe can be hazardous to health. Let’s look at a few examples.
Ties can cause headaches
Since ancient times, the tie has been considered a symbol of elegance and professionalism. So, in the days of Ancient Egypt, some people wore a piece of fabric on their shoulders, which emphasized their high social status – it was also a kind of tie.
In the modern world, self-tie ties are the most popular. This is a stylish accessory that can be tied in at least 85 different ways. Among them are tie knots under the names “Windsor”, “Pratt” and “Four”.

Wearing a tie can cause a fever and headache
A tie is tied around the neck, and sometimes it can squeeze it, thereby preventing the flow of oxygen and blood to the brain, and also cause an increase in pressure. Due to high pressure in the eyes, a person can eventually develop glaucoma, a serious eye disease that causes damage to the optic nerve and retina.
In 2018, scientists found that tight bandages around the neck can reduce blood flow to the brain by 7.5%. Because of this, a person may experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness and nausea. In this case, it is recommended to immediately remove the tie.
High heels hurt your back and joints
A tie gives men an elegant look, which can increase self-confidence. Women get the same effect from high heels – they increase height, which makes it possible to look down on some people.
However, wearing high heels regularly can be detrimental to your health. Even after a day of walking in such shoes, many women complain of pain in their legs, back and feet – this is not surprising, because the body has to make a lot of effort to maintain balance.

Shoes with high heels put a lot of stress on the human body
It is believed that when people walk in high heels for a long time, the shape of the foot can change. For example, some women develop bursitis, an inflammation of the joint capsule, which in severe cases requires surgery. Also, from walking in heels, the lower back is heavily loaded, as a result of which people have back pain.

Skinny jeans cause urinary tract infections
Some people wear skinny jeans because they think it’s fashionable. However, it is also better to refuse to constantly wear such clothes – it compresses the body, which can also cause serious health problems.
First of all, tight jeans are dangerous because they interfere with blood circulation in the pelvic area. Because of this, women may experience discomfort in the genital area, and men may even develop impotence. In general, tight clothing is a very common cause of diseases of the genitourinary system. This is because oversized clothing interferes with the free flow of blood and causes damage to muscles and nerves.

Perhaps skinny jeans should be completely removed from your wardrobe.
On top of all this, skinny jeans restrict movement and put strain on the body. Because of this, over time, people may experience severe pain in the legs and other parts of the body. If a woman wears tight jeans with high-heeled shoes, this is a double blow to health.
Bags and backpacks bend the spine
Bags and backpacks are not clothes, but they can be classified as accessories – so it will not be superfluous to mention their danger. In order to be able to carry more things with them, some people buy large bags and backpacks. You need to be more careful with this.
First of all, large bags are dangerous because, when worn on one shoulder, they cause a curvature of posture. Also, the straps of bags and backpacks compress the muscles and nerves of the neck, which can lead to the development of arthritis – inflammation of the joints.

It is best not to spare money and buy an orthopedic backpack
If there is a choice between a regular bag and a backpack, it is better to opt for the second option. The fact is that backpacks distribute the load more evenly. However, they should not be too heavy and large – if the top of the backpack is at neck level, and from the bottom it ends below the waist, this is a very bad option. It is best to choose backpacks that are positioned as orthopedic – they are more expensive, but worth it.
