So called allergic inflammatory disease of the esophagus. It is difficult for the patient to swallow, he experiences excruciating, bursting pains. Even rupture of the esophagus may occur. Scientists from the United States conducted an experiment among patients with this diagnosis. Some participants removed milk from their diet. One in three of them achieved remission after six weeks of the diet.
The results of the study were published in the authoritative scientific journal The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Scientists have concluded that most adults with eosinophilic esophagitis get better if they stop drinking milk.
Specialists conducted an experiment among volunteers with esophagitis. They were divided into two groups. One was banned from drinking milk, and the other was banned from drinking milk and seven other products (wheat, eggs, soy, fish, seafood, peanuts and tree nuts).
After six weeks of diet therapy, 34% of the participants in the first group improved and achieved remission. In the second group, there were 40% of them. As you can see, the difference is small. That is, the main thing was to remove milk from the diet.
Moreover, the vast majority of those who did not help the refusal of milk were able to achieve remission after giving up the seven above-mentioned products.
“Our results indicate that exclusion of animal milk alone is appropriate for initial dietary therapy for eosinophilic esophagitis,” the study says.
By the way, there is an opinion that it is dairy products that bring people to kidney stones. Earlier, urologist Yulia Kuryshkina explained that milk had nothing to do with it. But another popular drink may well do harm.
