The longest sections in the Leningrad region will be updated by installing wear layers.
FKU Uprdor North-West plans for the upcoming road repair season to replace worn-out pavement on sections with a total length of 69.3 km as part of the St. P-21 “Cola” in the Gatchina, Tosnensky, Lomonosovsky, Volosovsky and Kirovsky districts. At the St. Petersburg Ring Road, 72 km will be repaired along the lanes, and four expansion joints are planned to be replaced as planned.
Large-scale overhaul this year will continue on the highway R-23 St. Petersburg – Pskov – Pustoshka – Nevel – the border with the Republic of Belarus. Here, from Luga to the border with the Pskov region, the main work has already been completed – the right of way has been cleared, the power supply, communications and lighting networks have been partially rebuilt, the soil has been strengthened in the swampy area, and the earthwork has been filled. The contractor is working ahead of schedule, it is planned to commission sections on the border of the subjects, as well as in the city of Pustoshka, Pskov Region, before the end of the year. Last year, a contract was signed for similar work on the section from Bolshaya Yazchera to Mshinskaya. In the future, the entire R-23 highway in the Leningrad Region is planned to be expanded to four lanes from Rozhdestveno towards Pskov through a major overhaul and reconstructed, increasing the number of lanes to six from Bolshiye Kolpany to 80 km.
Reconstruction in the current year will go at once on six objects. To be put into operation in the fourth quarter The Road Administration is planning a new interchange on the M-10 Rossiya road in Yam-Izhora. Here, four regional roads adjoin the federal highway at one level. The construction of a junction with an overpass and a turning loop over the carriageway of the federal highway, the reconstruction of the intersection with Pavlovskaya and Pushkinskaya streets, the installation of transition lanes will redistribute traffic flows, remove left turns at intersections with regional roads, and therefore eliminate conflict points, places of concentration of small accidents , reduce the time spent by drivers and improve safety. The second facility, scheduled for commissioning at the end of the year, is a section of the R-21 Kola highway near Sinyavino. Here over the summer it is necessary to rebuild the main gas pipelines that cross the carriageway and widen the road from two to four lanes. Thus, the “bottleneck” on the previously reconstructed site will be eliminated. Federal road workers are planning to start reconstruction this year on sections of the R-23 and A-120 highways near Bolshiye Kolpany, in the north of the St. Petersburg Ring Road, where the number of lanes is to be increased from four to six. A large-scale reconstruction of two sections of the A-181 Scandinavia highway near Vyborg will continue.
*** The network of federal highways operated by FKU Uprdor “North-West” in four constituent entities of the Russian Federation is 3,054.275 km. Of these, in the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg – 1894 km, in the Pskov region – 914.11 km, in the Kaliningrad region – 246.95 km.
