One of the main threats to the integration of artificial intelligence into society may be a sharp increase in unemployment, as modern technologies will make a number of professions unclaimed. This problem can be solved by constant self-development of a person, as well as social guarantees. Futurologist Alexander Kononov stated this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

Modern technologies are becoming more and more dense in human life. Unmanned taxis and other public transport that do not require the presence of a driver are already appearing on city streets. You will not surprise anyone with self-service checkouts. Recently, the world was surprised by the chatbot with artificial intelligence ChatGPT, capable of writing news, stories, and even writing a diploma for a student of the Russian State Humanitarian University, which he successfully defended.
The presented cases already indicate that soon a number of professions in demand today will disappear as unnecessary. Kononov sees this as a real problem, which can only be solved by the joint efforts of society.
“Just as everything in our world is imperfect, so progress has its dark and bright sides. Information technology has become a great boon for humanity, but at the same time made it more vulnerable, which even required the creation of a new cybersecurity industry,” the futurist recalled.
“It will be the same story with AI: on the one hand, it will allow us to solve many tasks and challenges facing our civilization, it will increase the efficiency of our species. On the other hand, many jobs, many professions will simply not be needed, and humanity will have to rebuild, ”- futurologist Alexander Kononov.
Progress, as Kononov noted, has always brought such problems, but this is inevitable. Progress makes a person adapt, change. Now, with the development of artificial intelligence, it will have to adapt at an accelerated pace, and society must do everything to support this process.
“Due to the entry of AI into our lives, many people may be left without work, they need support. First of all, it is necessary to implement a system of basic unconditional income. People cannot be driven into a framework where, if you receive some kind of allowance, you do not have the right, for example, to a part-time job. Income must be unconditional, pensions too. No limits. People have different life situations, our social institutions are obliged to support them,” Kononov is sure.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said that neural network systems like the ChatGPT bot will change the world. The entrepreneur said this in an interview with the German newspaper Handelsblatt.
In a conversation with reporters, Gates appreciated the contribution of neural networks to the future of mankind and said that he considers the creation of ChatGPT as important as the invention of the Internet.
