About 5.7 thousand hectares of fruit trees have been trimmed in Crimean orchards. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Savchuk. “This year, such garden work is planned to be carried out on an area of about 10,000 hectares, which is almost 1,000 hectares more than last year. Employees of the Ministry of Agriculture are in constant contact with farmers. Yesterday, my deputy Arsen Arziev visited one of the enterprises in the Belogorsk district, in the gardens of which pruning is already being completed. Young trees were planted at the end of last year. Apple, pear, cherry and plum trees grow on 80 hectares. For bookmarking, the most popular and high-yielding varieties of apple trees were selected, including: Pink Lady, Modi, Fuji. These trees are compact, and the fruits have a good shelf life and transportation.
