According to the grain monitoring data of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Grain Quality Assessment”, wheat of the 2nd class in 2022 was detected only in the Altai and Stavropol Territories.
As Maria Shostak, director of the Altai branch of the Center for Grain Quality Assessment, stated at the Winter Grain Conference in Belokurikha, Altai has overtaken neighboring regions in terms of the quality of the harvested grain: only 2% of the total crop is fodder wheat. The weighted average of gluten for wheat of the 3rd class in 2022 in the farms of the Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories was 27% – this is an absolute high-quality record. In terms of vitreousness, the Altai Territory is in the lead, and in terms of natural weight, the farms of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are in the lead.
