We are talking about a dangerous virus that is transmitted to people through livestock. The patient’s temperature rises to 40 degrees, and bubble rashes appear on the skin. FMD serotype SAT-2 was found in Turkey. Previously, this type was not found in this country, but after a terrible earthquake it appeared. No wonder they say that trouble does not come alone.
The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture reported that due to the appearance of foot-and-mouth disease, all markets had to be closed in many provinces. It also banned intercity transportation of animals. Eight enterprises in the infection zone were quarantined.
The department noted that the World Health Organization (WHO) is aware of the situation. The republic has already managed to develop a vaccine that will be effective against the SAT-2 serotype. Previously, this variation of the virus has not yet been found in Turkey.
What is this animal
Foot-and-mouth disease is transmitted to humans from animals, but not from pangolins, as you might think. Usually the infection comes from artiodactyl livestock and pigs. The causative agent of the disease can easily be picked up by an employee of some agricultural enterprise if there is an infected animal there.
The patient saliva is abundantly secreted, the temperature jumps to 40 degrees, the head hurts. The appearance of specific rashes in the upper and lower extremities, cheeks, nose, tongue, as well as a burning sensation in the oral cavity can be called a foot-and-mouth disease chip. The good news is that foot and mouth disease is not transmitted from person to person, so an epidemic in Turkey is unlikely to threaten. The spread of the virus is easy to stop.
And in general, the Turks are not up to new disasters now. They would have to restore the country after a terrible earthquake that killed tens of thousands of people.
