The US Department of Agriculture, in a March report published on Wednesday, maintained at the level of February the forecast for wheat exports from Russia in this agricultural year (July 2022-June 2023) – 43.5 million tons, Interfax reports.
The estimates of wheat harvest – 92 million tons, as well as carryover stocks – 14.39 million tons, have not changed either.
The forecast for wheat exports for the closest competitor – the EU – is also kept at the level of the previous month – 37 million tons.
Estimated feed grain exports from Russia fell to 8.77 million tons from 8.97 million tons in February. The forecast for its harvest has not changed – 41.77 million tons. The estimate of carry-over reserves remained at the level of February – 1.94 million tons.
Forecasts for the corn market have not changed for the third month in a row: harvest – 14 million tons, export – 3.3 million tons, ending stocks – 0.78 million tons.
In forecasts for the Russian Federation, the US Department of Agriculture does not take into account the indicators of Crimea.
The forecasts of the US Department of Agriculture differ significantly from the preliminary data of Rosstat, according to which the wheat harvest in the Russian Federation amounted to 104.4 million tons, corn – 11.8 million tons.
In the March report, the US department estimated the world harvest of wheat in this agricultural year at 788.94 million tons against 783.8 million tons a month earlier, feed grain – at 1 billion 439.62 million tons against 1 billion 442.77 million tons, corn – at 1 billion 147.52 million tons against 1 billion 151.36 million tons, respectively.
Kaka said on Tuesday at a meeting of the final board of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan, Director of the Department of Crop Production of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Roman Nekrasov, the export of Russian grain has already reached 40 million tons.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, grain exports in the current agricultural year (July 2022-June 2023) can reach up to 60 million tons. From February 15 to June 30, an export quota of 25.5 million tons is in effect.
