The fans chose the mascots of the 2026 Olympics. They were two stoats that live in the Italian Alps. It is reported by Inside the Games.
53% of the participants in the popular vote voted for these animals. The second place was taken by the edelweiss flower.
Now the choice of fans must be approved by the organizers of the Games.
In total, 1.6 thousand applications from 82 Italian schools participated in the selection for the title of mascot.

The authors of the mascot were students of the Catanzaro Institute. One of the ermines is depicted with white fur, and the second with brown. The creators of the design noted that “stoats will have to overcome many obstacles and try out all sports disciplines in order to reach the slopes and ice rinks in 2026, as well as active sports fans.”
Winter Olympics 2026 will be held in Milan.
