The implementation of state support measures and preparations for spring field work in new regions were discussed at a meeting with agrarians of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. The event, which took place in the Rostov region, was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin.
In 2022, 3 billion rubles were allocated to support the agro-industrial complex of new regions as part of the regions’ socio-economic development programs. The funds were primarily used to compensate for part of the costs of agrotechnological work and milk production. In the future, it is also planned to provide subsidies to increase the production of potatoes and vegetables, products of the baking industry.
Also, a mechanism of preferential short-term lending will be available to farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has already developed an appropriate draft rules and sent for approval. In addition, a preferential leasing program will be launched in the near future. Separately, measures are envisaged to preserve jobs at agro-industrial complex enterprises.
To increase the availability of state support measures, as well as the implementation of credit-guarantee and leasing mechanisms in the Zaporozhye region, there is a Competence Center in the field of agricultural cooperation, organized with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Its employees help farmers to draw up the necessary documents and advise on various issues. In the near future, similar centers will appear in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson region.
