Videos of people spoiling food in restaurants began to appear at the beginning of the year.
Police in Japan have arrested several people for the first time for “sushi terrorism”. They were accused of forcibly obstructing business, reports The Guardian.
There were three people involved in the case. One of them, a 21-year-old, drank from a shared bottle of soy sauce at a Kura Sushi restaurant. The other two, a 19-year-old young man and a 15-year-old girl, filmed what was happening on camera and helped publish it, police said.
What is important to know:
A wave of so-called “sushi terrorism” rocked Japanese restaurants earlier this year. Users have started posting photos and videos showing them mocking food at restaurants serving food on a conveyor belt. So, one teenager showed how he licks the cap of a shared bottle of soy sauce and puts it back on the shelf.
