It all started with the fact that Jonathan Acosta went hunting with four friends. During a hike through the jungle, a man fell behind his friends and got lost.
He had only one cartridge left with him, which he had to use to drive away a detachment of peccaries (boar-like animals).
As a result, unable to hunt in order to survive, he had to eat worms, other insects and wild fruits, drink rainwater collected in his boot, and also hide from jaguars.
The man was saved after 31 days thanks to a search party sent after him.
“It’s unbelievable, I can’t believe people kept searching for this long,” Acosta said.
In total, during this time, the hunter lost 17 kilograms, sprained his ankle, and was also dehydrated. He said that he decided to give up hunting forever.
The police began checking Acosta’s friends to find out how the man fell behind them.
