A 36-year-old man met with the victim for several months, from the spring of 2022. The quarrel happened during a general feast, where, of course, strong drinks were present. A resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory began to swear with a 31-year-old girlfriend, accusing her of frequent drinking. At some point, the angry boyfriend doused the woman with the contents of one of the bottles, took out a lighter and set it on fire.
At that time, the children of the victim were in the house – three-year-old and ten-year-old boys, and also the child of her friend. The arsonist himself did not even try to help the woman and just watched her.
The victim herself took off her burning clothes and put out the fire. The woman’s neighbors called an ambulance. In the hospital, the victim was found to have thermal burns covering up to 21% of the body surface. Doctors qualified the injuries as bodily injuries of moderate severity.
The violent arsonist was apprehended and tried for attempted murder. After all the trials, he was assigned 8 years in prison to be served in a strict regime colony. He can still appeal the verdict.
