Agricultural organizations increased the volume of mineral fertilizers in 2022 by 2.6%

In 2022, agricultural organizations applied 3.43 million tons of mineral fertilizers (in the active substance, active substance), which is 2.6% more than in 2021, follows from Rosstat data. Including for agricultural crops, 3.39 million tons were introduced against 3.31 million tons a year earlier. Nitrogen fertilizers remained the most popular, of which 2.16 million tons were applied against 2.08 million tons in 2021. In second place in terms of prevalence are phosphate fertilizers, including phosphate rock. Their application decreased and amounted to 722 thousand tons against 748 thousand tons a year earlier. The application of potash fertilizers increased from 482 thousand tons to 511 thousand tons. According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the forecast volume of mineral fertilizer purchases by the Russian agro-industrial complex in 2023 is 5.6 million tons of water. “Thanks to the resources of mineral fertilizers accumulated by farmers last year, and the rhythmic supply of products since the beginning of this year, 34% of this volume has already been provided today,” the Russian Association told Agroinvestor.
