The harvest of grain and leguminous crops in 2022 amounted to 157.676 million tons, which is 29.9% more than in 2021 (121.399 million tons). Including 104.237 million tons of wheat (an increase of 37% compared to 76.1 million tons in 2021, Rosstat reports.
Preliminary grain harvest data was 153.8 million tons, including 104.4 million tons of wheat.
According to Rosstat, the harvest of barley last year increased by 30%, to 23.39 million tons from 18 million tons a year earlier, rye – by 26.5%, to 2.179 million from 1.722 million tons, corn – by 5%, to 15.85 million tons from 15.238 million tons respectively.
The collection of cereal crops also increased, with the exception of rice and millet. Buckwheat was harvested 33% more – 1.222 million tons against 919 thousand tons in 2021, oats – 4.531 million tons against 3.776 million tons, respectively. The rice harvest decreased by 14.2% to 923 thousand tons from 1.076 million tons, millet – by 16.5%, to 307 thousand tons from 368 thousand tons in 2021.
The harvest of peas amounted to 3.616 million tons against 3.168 million tons (an increase of 14.2%).
Grain harvest last year broke the previous historical record, which was recorded in 2017 and amounted to 135.5 million tons, including 86 million tons of wheat.
Rosstat also reported that the oilseed harvest amounted to 29.076 million tons, which is 17% higher than in 2021 (24.85 million tons). Including sunflower, 16.357 million tons were harvested against 15.656 million tons a year earlier (an increase of 4.5%), soybeans – 5.998 million tons against 4.76 million tons (an increase of 26%), rapeseed – 4.515 million tons against 2.794 million tons (growth by 61.6%).
Sugar beet harvested 48.872 million tons, which is 18.6% more than in the previous year (41.2 million tons). The potato harvest amounted to 18.814 million tons, which is 4.8% more than in 2021 (17.959 million tons), open and protected ground vegetables – 13.528 million tons (3.8% more, 13.029 million tons in 2021). Including the collection of cucumbers decreased by 47.1%, to 847 thousand tons against 1.603 million tons a year earlier, tomatoes – by 27.4%, to 2.215 million tons against 3.051 million tons. Cabbage harvest increased by 5.4%, to 2.32 million tons against 2.202 million tons, carrots – by 7.7%, up to 1.36 million tons against 1.263 million tons, beets – by 4.4%, up to 764 thousand tons against 732 thousand tons, onions – by 3.8%, up to 1.602 million tons against 1.543 million tons, respectively.
The harvest of gourds and gourds decreased by 13.9% to 1.634 million tons from 1.899 million tons in 2021.
