It was preliminarily established that the attacker offered a 27-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man to help in buying foreign cars at competitive prices. Having received money from them, the suspect seemed to have evaporated. The victims realized that they had been deceived and contacted the police.
Police officers detained a suspected swindler in the Moscow region. It turned out to be a 36-year-old visiting man. By the time he was caught, he had already spent the money.
The deceiver was prosecuted for fraud. He has now been released on bail.
Meanwhile, cops are checking to see if the suspected swindler is linked to other car scams.
