The agency issued a positive opinion following the review of design estimates for the construction of a new artificial runway of the complex, suitable for the operation of design types of aircraft.
An agreement of intent on the implementation of the investment project was signed between the Uytash International Airport named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan and the Government of the Republic of Dagestan. The work is carried out within the framework of the state program of the Russian Federation “Development of the transport system”, as well as the Government Decree “Comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure for the period up to 2024”.
The reconstruction of the Makhachkala airport will not only increase the number of flights and passenger traffic, but also expand the route network of flights operated from the city. Taking into account the insufficient bearing capacity of the existing runway of the complex, as well as the materials of studies of the operational and technical condition of artificial surfaces, it was decided to build a new artificial runway 3200 m long and 45 m wide, which will be connected to the old one using three connecting taxiways.
“A new artificial runway at the Makhachkala airport will be built without interrupting the flight operation of the airfield. It is also important that the project provides for the possibility of future use of the former runway, which will be equipped with visual aids for aircraft taxiing, as a main taxiway.– Andrey Fedulov, an expert of the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, clarified.
The design documentation also includes the reconstruction of RD-A and the western and eastern platforms, aimed at increasing the bearing capacity of the pavements. Taking into account the supercritical stage of operation of the coatings of the southeastern and southwestern parts of the apron, they will be completely dismantled and replaced with new ones. In addition, RD-S and RD-V at the apron junction area, treatment facilities, perimeter network fencing, power supply system, communication and control lines, will be reconstructed, new sites for aircraft AOL processing and AOL collection systems, the main and starting emergency rescue stations and perform other necessary work.
The developer of the facility is the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Administration of Civil Airports (Airfields)”, the technical customer is the FKU “Rostransmodernizatsiya”. The general designer is FSUE GPI and NII GA “Aeroproekt”.
