More than 500 agricultural enterprises of the Zaporozhye region received subsidies for the sowing campaign, Oleg Sirota, head of the commission for the development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas of the Civic Chamber of Russia, told reporters on March 12.
According to him, the real potential of the new Russian regions is estimated at 7-8 thousand farms.
“In the region, there were few large businesses by Russian standards. Small and medium businesses work there. Large agricultural holdings and foreign enterprises abandoned their assets, while small businesses remained,” Sirota said.
