The federal highway R-215 runs along the route Astrakhan – Kochubey – Kizlyar – Makhachkala and is part of the North-South transport corridor. Among other things, it provides communication with the Olya seaport in the Astrakhan region and an entrance to the city of Grozny in the Chechen Republic. The Glavgosexpertiza of Russia issued a positive conclusion for the overhaul of the bridge across the irrigation canal at the 61st kilometer of the R-215 highway.
The work will take place in the Shelkovsky district of the Chechen Republic. The bridge across the irrigation canal is located on the straight section of the R-215 highway, within the boundaries of the segment km 54+477 – km 70+127 at the entrance to Grozny, where a major overhaul project is currently being implemented. The total length of the overhaul section is 128.87 m, including the length of the bridge – 28.87 m. The seismicity of the construction area is 9 points.
“The goal of the upcoming work on the R-215 highway is to bring the bridge structure through the irrigation canal at 61 kilometers to the parameters of a category II highway. Design solutions, among other things, provide for anti-seismic measures on the bridge piers”– said the expert of Glavgosexpertiza of Russia Kirill Bystrov.
To organize safe traffic on the highway, it is also planned to install road signs, apply road markings, install a metal barrier fence on the sides of the road and a double-sided reinforced concrete parapet fence on the dividing strip.
