China will resume processing and issuing all types of visas to foreign citizens from March 15. This was stated in the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
From March 15, it will be possible to use valid visas issued before March 28, 2020 to enter the country. Visa-free entry to Hainan will also be allowed from Wednesday. Cruise ship passengers will be able to travel to Shanghai without a visa.

On March 28, 2020, China banned foreign nationals from entering the country due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, the PRC authorities suspended visa-free transit programs in several regions, including Hainan and Shanghai.
S7 Airlines has already announced the resumption of direct regular flights to China. The planes of the Russian airline will fly from Irkutsk to Beijing and from Novosibirsk to Urumqi. The first flights in both directions are scheduled for May 27. According to the carrier’s website, the cost of a ticket from Irkutsk to Beijing starts from 16,690 rubles, and from Novosibirsk to Urumqi – from 15,280 rubles.
