Work at the Eastern range of Russian Railways will continue in 2023, taking into account adjustments to the investment program of the second stage. In the meantime, the project for the development of the Kirba station track facilities in the Ust-Abakansky district of the Republic of Khakassia received a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
Separate point Kirba is located at 343-346 km of the railway line Mezhdurechensk – Taishet of the Krasnoyarsk Railway – a branch of Russian Railways. The track infrastructure modernization project involves the reconstruction of the Kirba siding into an intermediate railway station, taking into account its further development.
“The reconstruction of the Kirba station at the Eastern range will take into account the parameters of a particularly heavy-duty railway with an estimated train weight of 7,100 tons. The second track will be located on the left side, taking into account the linkage of the decisions made with the project for the construction of a double-track insertion on the Khankul-Kirba section of the Krasnoyarsk railway”– said Yuri Rybak, Chief Specialist of the Department of Local Expertise for Transport and Hydraulic Engineering Facilities of the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia.
It is planned to install two low passenger platforms with canopies at the station. For boarding and disembarking people with disabilities, specialized lifts are provided. For the safe crossing of railway tracks, two category III pedestrian crossings are provided on the same level with the rail head. Pedestrian crossings will be located at a distance of 20 m from the designed passenger platforms.
The experts also considered the decisions included in the project to ensure the safety of cultural heritage sites identified near the Kirba station – “Single mound Domozhakov-7”, “Single mound Domozhakov-11”, “Mound burial ground Domozhakov-12”.
