Agricultural organizations of the Stavropol Territory began sowing peas. Already sown 48.63 thousand hectares of peas, or 26% of the plan, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the region. The largest areas are sown in the Petrovsky, Ipatovsky, Stepnovsky, Krasnogvardeysky municipal districts of the region.
This year it is planned to sow 194.4 thousand hectares of peas, which is at the level of last year. According to long-term data, peas are sown in the region in the first days of spring field work or in the February thaw, which makes it possible to better use the moisture accumulated in the soil.
“At the same time, farmers sow fields with barley, oats and millet. To date, cereals (without corn) have been sown on an area of 104.9 thousand hectares, or 13.9% of the plan,” said Elena Tambovtseva, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
According to the regional branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselkhoztsentr” in the Stavropol Territory, farms are almost completely provided with disinfectants, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides.
This year, agricultural producers of the region planning to purchase elite seeds of peas and other agricultural crops received state support in the amount of 142 million rubles to finance part of the costs of supporting elite seed production
