On March 3, Shans Group of Companies held an all-Russian conference “Modern viticulture of the South of Russia” in Derbent, which brought together leading producers, specialists and scientists in the cultivation of grapes in the Russian Federation. The conference on viticulture was organized in Dagestan not by chance – 66% of all plant protection products that are used by the agrarians of the republic are produced by the Shans group of companies. Grapes, like a person, in order to fully grow and develop, need reliable health protection and high-quality nutrition. The solution of these problems has become more relevant than ever against the background of the expansion of the total area of vineyards, growing crops and a sharp rise in prices for imported plant protection products and fertilizers.
The implementation of a federal project to stimulate the development of viticulture and winemaking began very timely in Russia. This federal project gave its first fruits already in 2022. These are record harvests in the south of the country. In particular, 268.7 thousand tons of grapes were harvested in Dagestan, which is 13% more than last year.
At the end of 2022, the turnover of pesticides in Russia reached about 150 billion rubles, which is about 220 thousand tons of finished products – 130 thousand tons were produced in the Russian Federation.
Among domestic manufacturers of plant protection products and microfertilizers, Shans Group is among the top five. This year she will be 19 years old. The work is focused on large-scale production and registration of own drugs.

The enterprise is capable of producing 50 million liters of plant protection chemicals and microfertilizers per year,” said Sergey Aristov, director of the Yug division of the Shans Group of Companies. – Such a volume can meet about 25% of the needs of all Russian agricultural enterprises. The company’s product line includes more than 80 high-quality preparations from all groups of pesticides and microfertilizers.
Sergey Borisovich also said that certified warehouses for the storage of products of the Shans Group of Companies are located in all regions of the country, and for many years of work, logistics has been perfectly debugged. Delivery occurs without interruption during the day. Own production allows the Shans Group to meet the deadlines and volumes of deliveries, which was highly appreciated by the country’s agricultural producers.
About state support
Akhmed Akhmedov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Viticulture and Alcohol Regulation of the Republic of Dagestan, drew attention to the state support measures for the industry.
– The products of the Shans group of companies are very popular and in demand among the winegrowers of the republic. When allocating state support, the high quality of purchased preparations for the treatment of vineyards is necessarily taken into account. The total area of vineyards in the region at the beginning of 2023 was 26,650 hectares. In 2022, 519 million rubles were allocated to support viticulture, of which more than 490 million are federal funds, said Akhmed Magomedalievich. – More than 102 million rubles were spent on laying young vineyards, almost 113 million rubles were spent on caring for young vineyards. A new type of state support has appeared – a subsidy for the care of fruit-bearing vineyards. 86 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. There are also subsidies for drip irrigation and trellis installation. In general, state support was provided to 106 business entities out of 247.

— Viticulture is one of the budget-generating industries in the Republic of Dagestan. And it has huge development prospects. Only our agricultural holding produces about 25 thousand tons of this product. How many grapes are needed to meet the needs of our country? About 5 million tons. And it is produced about 800 thousand tons. Why should we bring it from abroad? But without the support of the state, the development of viticulture is impossible, – summed up the head of the agricultural holding.

Elena Eskova also added that in 2022, a new workshop for the production of water-dispersible granules was opened at the Chance Enterprise plant. The capacity of the workshop is 540 tons of pesticides per year.
