The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and Gazprom will work together to expand the use of natural gas in the agro-industrial complex

Today, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev and Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexei Miller signed an agreement on cooperation in the use of natural gas as a motor fuel. This will expand its application in the agro-industrial complex. As the head of the Ministry of Agriculture noted, due to its environmental friendliness and cost-effectiveness, gas has a high potential in various directions. Industry enterprises have been gradually increasing the number of vehicles running on natural gas for several years now. At the moment there are about 15 thousand of them. According to the Minister, the figure will increase, since operating costs are 20% lower than diesel counterparts. In addition, the use of gas engine fuel in tractors is promising.
