Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin spoke about the preparation of an information and analytical system that will be used to register breeding stock, TASS reports.
“A draft law has been prepared to create an information and analytical system. On this platform, registration of breeding animals and also accounting of farms that participate in such work will be carried out,” the prime minister said, opening the government meeting on Friday.
According to Mishustin, access to this database will be possible through a single portal of public services, and for all users, access will be free and provided remotely. The head of the Cabinet noted that among the users of the system there will be authorities, agribusiness, including individual entrepreneurs, as well as scientists working in this field.
“Through this database, breeding farms will provide information about their animals, the acquisition of which is most beneficial for agricultural producers. Farmers will be able to choose the most productive breeds for themselves,” Mishustin explained. He also recalled the need to create their own knowledge-intensive solutions in the field of agriculture and genetics. “Such a new information platform is needed for applied research demanded by our farmers. It will be a good help for Russian producers of meat, milk, aquaculture, honey, food, and will help increase the competitiveness of our agricultural industry,” the prime minister concluded.
