According to Soyuzrossahar, on March 14, sugar beet sowing began in the Krasnodar Territory. In total, 1.1 thousand hectares have been sown as of today. Taking into account the prevailing weather conditions, the sowing of sugar beets began 10 days earlier than last year. According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, favorable weather conditions are expected in the Krasnodar Territory in the coming month, which will allow sowing at optimal times throughout the region.
In 2023, the total area under sugar beet crops in the Krasnodar Territory will increase by 5% to 189 thousand hectares.
According to the results of the 2022/23 production season, the total volume of gross sugar beet harvest in the Krasnodar Territory amounted to 10.6 million tons, with an average yield of 566 q/ha. Processing of sugar beets was carried out by 14 sugar factories, which produced 1.6 million tons of sugar.
