A post on the website of the auction house Litfond says that the item of clothing, which is of collectible value, was presented by the leader of the LDPR to Russian TV presenter Alexander Gordon during a television program in 2014. Before that, Zhirinovsky wore it to meetings of the State Duma.
“In good condition, traces of existence,” – noted in the comments on the website of the Literary Fund. They also recalled that earlier Eduard Limonov’s jacket was sold for 1.7 million rubles, and Peter Mamonov’s concert suit for 300,000.
The auction itself will take place on March 23 in Moscow. It has the opportunity to buy rare books, manuscripts, autographs, photographs, posters and postcards.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky died in 2022 at the age of 75. For many years he was the permanent leader of the Russian Liberal Democratic Party. Since 1993, he sat in the State Duma, and also repeatedly participated in presidential elections.
The Liberal Democratic Party said they had nothing to do with the auction. Party spokesman Alexander Dupin recalled that Zhirinovsky was a generous person and often gave something.
