In 2021, an employee of the Yaroslavl enterprise for the production of aircraft tires for law enforcement agencies, Kirill Vasilyev, became a defendant in a criminal case, journalists reported. It turned out that he arranged for his beloved Janet Stumbraite to a non-existent position, in order to later pay her 50 million rubles upon dismissal. A simple scheme was uncovered, but in the end, the prosecutor’s office closed the case.
The Avia plant produces aircraft tires for the Ministry of Defense, the Federal Security Service and the Russian Guard. Kirill Vasiliev held one of the leading positions there, the Mash telegram channel told. According to him, in 2020, the man appointed his beloved Janet Stumbraite to the position of deputy manager, which was not provided for at the enterprise at all. Moreover, the top manager agreed on the appointment with his superiors, the publication says.
As noted by the telegram channel, the average salary at the tire plant at that time was 35,000 rubles. But Vasilyev did not deprive his mistress, she was given a job with an interesting condition – compensation of 50 million rubles upon dismissal in the next 10 yearsjournalists noted.
Stumbraite, even for the sake of decency, did not “work” at the enterprise for a couple of years, they say. Mash noted that the woman quit after a few months and immediately ran to court to demand money, but she was suddenly refused. It turns out that she still had to prove that she worked at the factory.
It is reported that after that, the Avia plant itself demanded to check the top manager and the suspicious employee, and as a result, in 2021, a criminal case was opened against the couple.
But neither Vasiliev nor Stumbraite ended up in the dock: in 2023, the criminal case was closed because the couple simply renounced claims for 50 million rubles, the journalists noted. Even the prosecutor’s office understood and forgave everything, but the Yaroslavl plant did not forgive and is still writing complaints about a couple, the publication notes.
In January 2022, we told a story about how the head of a Russian defense plant was accused of embezzling 600 million rubles.
